Dark souls

ALRIGHT! I AM BACK! Well for a little bit at least. OK people if you still follow this blog (after my long ass leave of absence) I am pleased to say i am back from my little...vacation and i can give you more reviews. And today I will be reviewing Dark Souls.

This was a hard one to do. All the games I ever seem to play are almost always great. So I am gonna try and be mean...Ok that won't work although i will admit I was enraged so many times with this game that I remembered what it was like to play hard games when I was 3...yes 3. I was playing racing games at 2 so that was just me being stupid. But the intensity of the game was so crazy. I loved it.

Now this game is not for the feint of heart or the weak of mind. Your mind must be ready and your controller must be made of steel to endure the tosses you will do when playing. The enemies are tough, the damage tables are bullshit, and your strength is that of a fluffy kitten. So learn to dodge, Block, backstab, and make as many NPC friends along the way. oh and don't forget jolly Cooperation.

The goal of the game, Defeat the evil Lord gwyn and bring light (or darkness if you choose so) to the land. I am proud to say I have gotten to the end of my second playthrough now But I am still not strong enough to defeat Gwyn on my own. I require help but that will be for another day as i am way behind on games to review and still have a computer to build so I can spread my gaming experience to give you reviews on more games.

OK with the intro out of the way let us see what else... Ah yes the leveling system and so on.
It was nice, to the point, A little bit of time was needed before it all clicked in and I started playing smart.

The combat system: Reminded me of monster hunter...sweetness. You have stamina and health. No magic as magic is different. It is on a limited view basis but recharges whenever you rest at a bonfire. It is not too amazing but if you have your character leveled up right it can be a major game changer. But if you aren't a magic man Pyromancy might be your game. Not magic, Not physical, but something more...primal. I went with pyromancy seeing as it was a lot more fun to use. Be careful if you are a slow character as those bigger bosses will murder you.

story: It was a little tough to get what was going on at first but then it clicks and boom, You are now on a quest to save (or destroy) the land.

Voices: Amazing. I for one loved the voice acting in the game. They were all clear and showed some good emotion. I felt really connected to some of teh characters and was pleased to say even with a terrible fate met with severeal good friends you meet early on in the game I can say well done. Sad, But well done.

graphics: Ah yes, Where are games without graphics these days...hahaha, but seriously the visuals were stunning, the lighting was magnificent and the framerate...well it was decent nearly all the time. what can you expect with a console game. But I loved every bit of it. It was all stunning. My only complaint...why don't the NPCs have moving mouths? I mean you put so much into the darn game you forget to do that? but other than that I have no complaints there.

multiplayer: Ok this is a bit hard to do. The way it works it tough and to spare you a long read and a long explanation i will put it like this. you cannot play with your buddies like you would any other game. It works in this weird way that you can only play online if you are not in a party and you meet people by chance practically. Well that is if you are a bad man or have been invaded. But I didn't like it too much. when you play with other people the fun is nearly multiplied and I feel like I am playing monster Hunter HD EXTREME! So I can say It was amazing whenever I fought a boss with 3 other people. But I have heard rumors of a Dark souls 2 coming out. (rumors don't take me seriously) so hopefully they will make changes to it and let you play online with friends in a party. Please do this....please. But I say the online play was lacking just a teeny bit, But then again, if it was any other way Would It be as challenging and hard to play? So there goes a key element in the game. So I am torn. I will merely wait to see what happens in the future.

replay value: depends. Do you want to keep playing or are you going to get bored easy playing the same thing. I am a bit of both so I give it fairly high. I still love the game. but with so much content and items you can get and the fact there are 2 endings and such I would say it's pretty darn good. The game is long, Challenging, and can be played again with the same character and have your stats and equipment saved. But this time the difficulty is amped up even more. Even basic enemies will cut you down in a heartbeat if not careful. So look out for that.

Overall: great game. If you like a challenging fantasy game that will test your mettle as a gamer then this is for you. It has PVP, PVP Co-op, tough oversized enemies, and insane visuals that will immerse you into the world. I loved the game and i say if you think you have the balls as a gamer pick it up.

I will leave a rating of 8 out of 10.

SirSlaughter out, Buh-Bye!
